Where
organisations such as schools, universities and emergency services
apply EAARs for bulk alert or emergency notification it is critical
that the credits available need to be at lease twice the number
required in the case of an emergency plus another 25% (at least) to
enable safe coverage in the case of an emergency. We recommend 5 SMS
credits per enrolment and or user group.
There
may be situations in the emergency when subsequent messages need to be
sent as follow-ups to the initial message. This needs to be considered
when allocation credits to this application.We also recommend an
emergencyy reserve of SMS credits equal to 5 times the enrolment and or
user group set up on application.
Local
considerations need to be taken in account when deciding on the amount
of credits that would be needed in the case of an emergency.
In
the situation of schools the number of credits that may be needed would
be twice the school’s enrolment plus staff numbers and allowing another
twenty-five percent (25%) buffer to consider other incidental use.
In
the event that credits have been used and the total remaining is under
this critical level not all alert messages will able to be sent and
received by recipients due to a lack of available credits.
Other
